Am I missing something or is hacking bugged as hell?
Hi,
As I try to hack a tresor I want to click numbers but It wont let me.
For example I try to click the number 9 or 5 multible times but it wont show it on the panel to be recognized and I have to choose another number instead.
I cant comprehend what am I missing.
I am talking about the FIRST attempt when you start hacking and you are free to choose any of the give numbers. So not when you already figured out one or more of them.
Sometimtes when I erase one number and try it again it let me choose the number it wouldnt recognize before.
Is this really a bug or am I missing something?

Its definetly an very annoying bug. Sometimes it help canceling the hack and trying it again.

I'm having that same bug as well. The workaround I found was to wait about 5 seconds in between inputs. The problem seems to be when you quickly try to push in the numbers.

Not a bug. Pay attention to the > and < symbols when hacking. You have to pick a number thats less than or greater than the one preceeding it.
Remember when in 8th grade you thought math was BS. Jokes on you
Red is wrong everything
Yellow is right number wrong slot
Green is right number right slot

* < * > * > *
0 < 5 > 2 > 1
5 < 9 > 8 > 7
0 is less than 5 which is greater than 2 which is greater than 1
Or
5 is less than 9 which is greater than 8 which is greater than 7
So
* = * > * < *
Could be?

He's not asking HOW the hacking mini-game works, he's saying it's bugged, which it is for a lot of people.

I'm having the same problem myself; I can enter the first number, but then the game doesn't recognize any of my inputs for the next three. Haven't really found a workaround yet. It will eventually let you put numbers in, I just have to wait.

Did you even read what you quoted?

The only reason it will prevent you from pressing a key on the pad to enter a specific number is if it breaks the instructions for < and > and = symbols that are displayed between the digits.

If you enter a 9 as the 1st digit on the following:

9 < ? ....

There is no digit that you can enter for the second number!

Pay attention to the symbols between the digits.

You are missing something. I thought it was bugged at first too until I realized the significance of the < and > signs between each number that prevent you entering certain numbers at all.

"Greater than, less than". Example:

5 > *

You can't put a number greater than or equal to five in the slot where the * is, because it would be mathematically incorrect.

yeah its not bugged it prevents you from putting mathematically impossible values in the equation
Smig Oct 28, 2017 @ 10:59pm
So that's what it is. I didn't pay attention to the symbols and just thought it was bugged. Some feedback when input is refused would be nice.

yeah I hear you, took me a while to realize thats what was going on too :(

so what do you do when you have 1,2,3 all red, 4 not available and you have 5 >*? Should be 1,2,3,or 4 right or am I just too tired to be looking at this right now?

Edit: Ok so just in case anyone else runs into this, don't forget the 0 is a usable number. Decided to try it out and it worked.

God bless you. How did I not see that this whole time.
