ELEX
Who is playing with Laser rifles ?
Hey, as I am now 40 hours in this game I am wondering what experience other players might have with the game ragarding weapons and such.

How are laser rifles late game? Are there any differences in lasers or are they all the same just different in total damage?
I used a grenade only once, not really worth the trouble imho.
Should I really pay 10000 elix for an upgraded Berserk-Fighter armor? Are the stats worth that price? Personally Id rather spent that amount of money in my little town I occupied!
The best bow I found so far needs 70 strength. What makes is kinda a dealbreaker. Who levels strenght so high when he is building an archer that needs dexterity. Damn u PB!

I haven't upgraded my laser rifle yet, but upgrading my plasma rifle up once increased the damage by quite a bit. I imagine a laser rifle upgraded at full auto will wreck a lot of enemies.

As for grenades, I'm at level 20 and they're still useful. Set them to contact fuse (F to change firing mode) and just chain throw them at a group or a big monster. I use them mostly on large groups or the big mechs.
I wonder if you can compare damage with each and every weapon.
Is it meant as DPS or damage per bullett? cause if meant damage per bullet there might be a huge difference between a 50 damage bow and a 50 damage laser rifle...
Ive played with my Laser Rifle for a long time. While deactivating the Extractors ive found a Plasmarifle called "The Redeemer". 100 DMG each Shot, needs 65 Dex / 65 Int. Pretty low for such a high damaged weapon. Anyway, only 7 Shots per Round were a bit weird if u used a Laser before that has got a 20 Round Mag.
Big Mobs, like the BIG BIG BIG Mutants arent a problem anymore. One Mag shot on them and the most of them lie infront of you :)

Use plasma rifles for stunnign and finish them with lazer.

Damage and appearance seem to be the only things that are different between variants. Late game with upgrades laser rifles aren't too far behind plasma rifles and are much more economical in terms of ammo usage (you can buy 4 laser rounds for the price of 1 plasma).

Yup, thats why i said use plasma to debuff them and then finish them with lazer.

grenades are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing. in my current run i killed the malfunctioning robots for the clerics around level 4-5, just by tossing a handfull of nades at em. damage stat alone says nothing, gotta try those weapons and spells out (some enemies seem to be less resistant to certain effects/damage types), cause many offensive options have hidden effects, like dots, knockdown, hard/soft cc for example.
lazors are pretty good even later on, burst fire or full on auto can deal absurd damage and the ammo is pretty cheap and easy to come by.
upgrading your armor is also quite important, in Elex every gear upgrade makes alot of difference.

Yeah i have this feeelign too, damage stats in the inventory doesnt tell everything or the whole truth, some mobs have different resistance to different kind of weapons, but you have to find out for yourself.

I find it weird that a single shot from my laser rifle does more damage in single fire than in auto fire. Why? I mean sure, autofire is faster.. but ammo isnt cheap!

To cover for ammo cost, I took survival's Trophy skill
What I miss are weapons that you can actually mod or enchant. Why give an special skill to enchanting when only 1% of the weapons you find are enchantable. Even when you find one weapon that is, their stats are worse than your normal ones. PB logic^^
