It has nothing to do with common sense when the mission ending is so ambiguous. Do I wait until Paige needs more stuff like she said? Do I go to Alois? Paige is still marked as active on the map so it's poor/ambiguous design and not common sense.
Common sense is not stepping on a nail, what you are describing is like hammering nails up through every square inch of your flooring and then tell the person who has a nail through their foot that they should have worn solid steel boots when in your house. Boi.
my suggestion's just do what you think you should or want to be doing. instead of what you think game wants you to do. when i was in that situation i was considering several options like not telling alois anything or telling him everything or helping paige find new supplier or hindering it etc etc. ofc not everything's possible in game you only've what pb coded. but it's much more fun to try to think for real than to just follow quest marker after quest marker to completion.
Did you figure it out mate? I have the same issue with it.
I was never given the quest from him. In fact a had not even spoken to him so that's why I thought the quest should complete when I gave Paige the shipment as she's who started the process.
If I remember correctly. The quest is not supposed to end when you give her the weapons and you do not have to tell Alois. There is someone else you have to speak to about supplying her with weapons. You speak to that person and then return to Paige. You tell her that "so and so" has agreed to supply her with the weapons she needs, and then the quest finishes.
What's it saying in the quest log?
Edit:
That quest description is extremely ambiguous, it's like I never chose a side and the dialogue doesn't mention me taking a side either. That, coupled with the two quest markers either means that there is an extra supplier for Paige out there (somewhere) or the quest is bugged.
The "hurr durr use your head!!!!11111one" crowd need to learn the difference between a puzzle and a bug.
If this were say; Morrowind for example and the quest required me to find someone there would be some sort of hint to their location in the quest log or dialogue from the quest givers.
If the quest is over and all you need do is report your failure to Alois then Paige should disappear from the map, her not disappearing along with her statement about needing another supplier suggests there is either more to the quest, or that the quest is bugged.
I've even tried narrowing down who her new supplier could be, it can't be the clerics ( at least not directly), she said she doesn't want/can't get shipments from Tavar and the berserkers don't have anything worth trading (as well as hating the outlaws in the Domed City), this only leaves the separatists who I've exhausted dialogue options with or someone, somewhere in Magalaan.
never said i couldnt finsih the quest(which i did finish after speaking to alois at the end of the quest) was just stating i got the quest first from paige instead of alois. paige was the one who told me about her supplier and were to find him ( got her weapons from the ab outside doom city for her. gave them to her; plus this time around on my outlaw run i let the ab live/kill the 2 clerics) but after all that my quest log didnt clear until i finally spoke to alois in the end.
in end i quess im just saying you can get/start the quest from either paidge/alois. just matter who you spoke to first.
But that's what you did and it's bizarre you complain. Im' pretty sure that the NPC you made final report was marked when selecting the quest, so you had the information, why complain?
EDiT: other RPG add a quest step "report to", most often in Elex there isn't such step, only the character selected when you select the quest. And for final report this character is selected in orange instead of yellow.
