I don't think there is a good or bad ending. Actually, I believe the "cold" ending to be the good one.
It's a bit misleading.
If the answer is logic or common sense, then it's cold. If the answer is whining, yelling, swearing, then it is emotional.
As @HARRY points out, for cold decrease you are supposed to let Jax show emotions and nerves, curse, use swear words, be verbally rude as part of making Jax rediscover his human nature. Cold decrease is not about being nice, friendly or benevolent. But be careful with intimidation. Bluntly threatening somebody without a second thought leads to cold increase.
Avoid all emotionless decisions where Jax would only follow a certain logic or would consider killing someone in the blink of an eye. Showing willingness to kill somebody, other forms of clear brutality and unscrupulousness, and clearly stone-hearted behavior lead to cold increase.
Never use the potions till end game, then you can save/load the game and get all achievements in one playthrough if you do it right
they are for a lot of people yes, you can have your own opinion about it, but achievements are a big deal on any platform
