DLC is pointless since there is gonna be Elex 2 for sure. If you've completed the game you'll know why. I fkin love this game and I cant wait for Elex 2

I never encountered even a single serious bug.

Belmont has turned his pet peeve (game not starting anymore with AMD graphics) into hatred, apparently:

As unfortunate as that is, the right thing to do would be to contact AMD and Piranha Bytes tech support. Lashing out at the game because of this issue is entirely unfair.

Various other AMD graphics users have managed to work around it by downgrading the driver. Driver issues take down many other games from time to time. It remains to be seen whether the driver is the culprit or whether the game does something that leads to undefined behavior with the new driver.

Tell more, preferably in a different topic not about DLC. What trouble-shooting have you done so far?

Have you tried deleting your game config file yet?
\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ELEX\Config\ConfigUser

Here's the page mentioning the game tech support contact addresses:
https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue?appid=411300

I've not had any such issue with the game since release. Not with AMD graphics and not with Nvidia either. It may be specific to your installation, programs running in the background

well, risen 2 and risen 3 have DLCs, so thats why i wonder. not for "i want more", cus there definetly will be elex 2 for sure))
With Risen 2 and 3, as far as I know, players had started to complain about the base game being filled with not enough content. The DLCs for Risen 3 don't add much, on the other hand.

Releasing tiny DLCs, such as optional items or extra content with some more missions, bears a multitude of risks for the developers.

Various risks. Grumpy players starting a "cash grab" crusade against the devs and/or publisher. DLCs released late requiring players to replay the game, if the DLCs don't add post-endgame content. DLCs destroying all the gameplay balancing there may be. DLCs getting ignored by players, who rush through the base game and don't want extra content or don't want to pay for it. DLCs adding new achievements to unlock, fueling those that would bring up the cash grab argument. And finally, working on the next full game is the better long term goal for any small developer studio, which cannot afford keeping devs busy with DLCs, which may not create a lot of income compared with a base game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I agree with your reasons, it would cause too many headaches. For this type of game and the way it is constructed, DLC content would be ill advised.

Having played through the entire story, a sequel (being what they planned to do in the first place) makes more sense than adding DLC content.

They are also still working on improving their proprietary Genome game engine and again, releasing another game would almost require it be released as a complete title rather than a DLC that might "break" existing player's games.

In game design, it is entirely up to the developer. In other games, like the Civilization franchise* for instance, DLC make sense only if you are building on the same engine as the original game. If you come up with a new game engine and/or new game mechanics, it would make more sense that you release it as a new title.

*my favorite was Civ 4 and all of it's DLC.

I did not know that was the reason why they didn't like DLCs. It does make sense though that changing publishers would require something be released as a new title. When it comes to games and copyright law, things can get a bit tense and, ... weird.

You get the full game in one purchase. Be happy about that, it's super rare these days!

so, only risks is some angry gamers?))) and nobody makes dlc by full team, so comparing it with full game isnt correct
