A new maincharacter and Jax being an NPC leader of the Camp of the Center wouldn't be much PB-like, I guess. But you never know?
Playing the amnesia card once more would work, too. Jax follows Hector and The Claws over the mountain pass, is buried by an avalanche and gets rescued by unknown survivors and potential allies. That way the developers could replace or rework the attributes and skills.
If player has completed the prequel at level 40 upwards, I don't see how one could continue there with all the skills and high-end equipment and still offer better items and new skills.
i'd rather they offed jax or he'd simply vanish only to find him much later as npc.
If I were staging ELEX 2 then it'd be a generation(s) after the end of ELEX where Jax's efforts were a fading legend and the external threat has arrived.
And do you think the sphere that's shown at the end of the game will take so long to arrive?
if Elex 2 was pirate themed
I know expecting PB to allow create players their own character for some reason is bit too much but damn... Jax personality is so... struggle to find world... absent.
Decades? Isn't the external threat arriving pretty soon (like, maybe as short as just a few years away from the ending?)
I'd rather a new main char for the sequel than Jax again.
Well isn't that kinda deliberate, being what he was. But you can certainly make choices in the game to make his responses more human or more cold. I liked the way it was done, for the replayability.
PB allready managed it before that the hero in his ongoing efforts is stil able to act like he has allready been powerful thix can be done by simple mechanics like loosing youre origin of skills like in Gothic 3 where the type of magic been used before is no longer possible. Also having gear in the first place allways helps a lot to feel strong without the need of complete progression. some free to spend skillpoints and a balanced match of stats to begin with and you have no need to play the amnesia card anymore.
the biggest issue comes with finding new items that are basically way less effective than youre startgear ^^
