Is this game worth it?
So...I am looking for a new rpg to play, and i set my sight on this one.
But the reviews on the web, and on steam as well, are mediocres in the best case. I reaad every kind of horrific things about this game.

Is it worth it, if i can find it at a cheap price?

You won't get different feedback here, except that maybe you will encounter the few very vocal haters, who keep bashing the game since Oct 2017.

It is well worth the money even at full price - provided that you understand what it offers or if you've made experience with the Gothic or Risen series before.

Best open-world action RPG since New Vegas, easily. An essential game for anyone who likes this genre and style. Just don't be discouraged early-on, the game is honestly at its worst in the beginning.

An hard gameplay is no issue for me....what concerns me is what i read about the technical department, such as bad english voice acting (which would be a major flaw, for me, in an rpg) and animations, for instance
Y Ddraig Ddu May 18, 2018 @ 1:39pm
English voice acting isn't great; don't be expecting something like the magnificent work from SIDE UK (Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed: Origins, SOMA). German VO is actually very good but it's, well, in German. Games has 300,000 words of dialog and all of it was translated into English by one guy, so it's pretty spotty.

Animations are its other weak point. Again, you can't expect The Witcher 3's animation quality. Animation is probably on par with The Witcher 2 or so; it's still better than blehthesda.

Better than bugthesda is ok for me; skyrim's animations were not good but still more than decent....if these are better, it's more than ok.

I am gonna watch some videos on youtube to get an idea on the voice acting

For me it wasn`t worth a full price.
It looks and plays like the game from 10 years ago. Animations and visuals are crap. As rpg it is mediocre.
Better wait for discount.

You wouldn't be a troll if you stopped trolling. Troll. I still have faith.

Animations, voice acting and some balance isn't good. But visuals are almost across the board stellar, especially textures. Compare to these vanilla textures:

There's pretty much no Parallax Occlusion Mapping ANYWHERE in The Witcher 3. In ELEX, it's everywhere.

Keep lyin' nimrock. You've gotten pretty good at it.

This is one of the best RPG's i have played in a very long time. I was not sure if I would like it either but after i got it and played it I will be preordering the second one the instant I can since this one was so good. The last game i preordered was skyrim

It made me rage.
It made me pissed off at everything that killed me.
It made me get better at it.
Then I crushed it.

What more could you want?

Keep being blind fanboy who can`t see numbers. You are best in it.

Numbers for the games you mentioned:
Elex peak players 8 months after release - 715
Fallout 4 , 2,5 year after release - 18,497
Witcher 3 , 3 years after launch - 12,559

Yeah I know... numbers are also trolling.

What does this have to do with anything at all. I also thought The Witcher 3 was far better than Fallout 4.

I guess you disagree!

Did you like Gothic 1 or 2? If yes, you'll love this.

ELEX is a clunky game with clunky poorly animated sticky non-responsive combat where you will explore one of the greatest maps out there: dense, full of loot, static, with great verticality and variety. Maybe too much variety, since it is a bit of a throw everything in one map map deal.

Those ore the worst and best parts: very poor combat, one of the my favourite maps ever.

I loved the game. For me it is up there with the old classics. I have two more achievements to do and I will have them all.

Other wise the rest of the clunky and not fully polished elements of the game do not get in the way and for me this is a cult classic. Very few bugs that will hinder your progress. The world is interesting, the quests are OK, some good, some fetch, there is great but consequence free reactivity to some of your choices, there is a TON of voice acting. Too much even.

But anyway, if you can enjoy a clunky unpolished game that has 10 times the ambition the devs are cable to deliver upon, you will love this. Or if you like Gothic. If you need your games to be polished to mirror shine or want good combat in your games, I can't recommend it.

Ok, IF you like games that lack in every aspect of it and wetted your panties from controls in first Gothic (not gameplay or story or visuals or open-world scheme, just controls) than this game is for you.
Otherwise, try to find something else.
