Although I know this mod exists, I had never used it before until recently when I wanted to test the "cold value" for a topic. If using the mod to change the cold value, it breaks all subsequent cold related arithmetics completely. Even resetting cold to zero breaks it. Perhaps there is similar breakage with regard to some of the other values it shows.
Sadly I've only now just seen that the forum there very seldom gets new posts. So I doubt anyone will come by, or that Jimbei even still works on it.
I then thought about downloading a trainer. But most require you to pay a subscription. The one free trainer I found also didn't allow you to increase be small ammounts, just get infinite numbers. Which breaks the game. I also ended up accidentally downloading a damned ttrojan doing this.
All I want is my life back. By which I mean, I want:
100 attribute
10 skill
8000 elexit
That's roughly what I wasted these last 10 hours chasing these stupid, garbage perks.
About the Charisma/Personality abilities - https://elex.gamepedia.com/Personality - yep, there are various pitfalls, since many of them are only worthwhile for the early game. Such as Friend of Beasts. CUN 50 as a high requirement, but only weak creatures are affected? Who would consider that as worthwhile? Attributes +1 per level doesn't look very attractive, if player cannot foresee what level will be reached, and learning it at high priority sounds odd then. I mean, you gain only 10 attribute points per 10 levels, and you can see the very high attribute requirements of equipment and abilities very early. Most of the other abilities require INT+CUN. On the other hand, some people like playing smart, silver-tongue protagonists, and with a focus on INT+CUN+DEX and exploration, one can make a profit early due to hacking safes and picking pockets. Eventually, one must fight, and then anything can be helpful. Even +5% XP for missions and Bookworm to gain XP for reading the many documents one can find.
If you compare the abilities with Elex potions (and the items you can equip to gain a skill), oh well, ...
So I'm good.
I won't be making that mistake again buying the wrong perks.
I think almost all of the complaints with this game would be mitigated if the systems were not so opaque. I hate the game, but only because it tricked me - if it had it quite clear that extra attributes per level, or XP boosters were basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, then I would not have bought them.
Honestly, I was tempted by the weak animal perk too. :(
This whole game is so counter intuitive it's crazy.
Well, you've tried to meta-game the system before gaining all the meta-gaming knowledge, which would back up such a decision. Your stomach ought to have told you that full focus on the Charisma/Personality abilities bears a high risk, because you would be lacking fighting skills and would be unable to complete any dangerous missions. Effectively, starting with CHA/Pers skills increases the requirements to explore even more, search for errand boy tasks and likely become a hacker and a thief before gaining the missing combat skills.
