ELEX
So now that Rock Paper Shotgun has officially declared this game aweful, can we all get refunds and move on?

The game has mostly positive reviews, so I'd hardly say it's terrible it's obviously just not the game for you.
edit: You have 1.5hrs in the game, try actually playing the game before claiming it's bad.

Comfortably roleplaying your namesake, aren't yah "Literally Cancer?"

ELEX is the current Game of the Generation for myself and a lot of others. Sorry your taste is so bad; enjoy Skyrim!

and Rock Paper Shotgun matter because.....?
If it is true you only have 1.5 hours into the game, then get a refund if you are under the 2 weeks. If you stopped playing the game because you thought it was terribe, then why didn't you get a refund before the end of the 2 weeks?

This isn't a review but a first impression and sounds like the author hates all things Piranha Bytes. This would be a seal of approval for me. He only describes the first minutes in the game before it opens up.

Screw Rock Paper Shotgun, their opinion is worth nothing..

Because it's a good game, mystery solved.

The day reviewers determine what is and is not refundable would be a bad day for us all. Just completed ELEX for the first time as of ten minutes ago and I have to say, while I may have regarded it a bit lesser if I wasn't already so familiar with the GOTHIC series, I couldn't put this game down.

Bad voice acting and occasional awful writing (and the janky combat) didn't stop me wanting to see it through. The world is massive (as usual when it comes to PB games), and choices actually mattered - more than we can say from promises from titles such as Fallout 4 (where it all boils down to basic choices).

If this is your idea of a bad game, I would argue you've clearly not played many games.
The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

Who the ♥♥♥♥ is rock paper shotgun?

I liked pretty much all PB games so far even the not so well recieved Risen 2+3. Absoluteley hated Elex. Complete and utter garbage. Game world feels empty and disjointed, no stats, combat system sucks, broken skills, broken quests, gameworld stuffed with random mobs and trivial loot. Game feels the need to constantly tell you "This action changed the story! THIS ACTION CHANGED THE STORY!!!" on second look howere it didn't change ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. "Consequences of your actions" are completely trivial. Main story sucks and ends with a - for the rest of this story come back for Elex 2! - cliffhanger. ♥♥♥♥ that.

A mediocre experience that you can't stop posting about. A mediocre experience that you can only think of a game from 7 freaking years ago in its same genre that manages to be superior to it. A game, which I might add, you can now see through corrective lenses via roughly 4 years of mountains upon mountains of fan patches.

Compare launch New Vegas on PC with launch ELEX on PC and tell me honestly which one is the better product. I dare you to say anything other than the correct answer. I dare you.

Look, I just killed Konrad for Logan, when I realized in horror that I didn't complete Arx's companion quest. So I assumed I broke the quest, but guess what? PB generated a brand new NPC with loads of additional dialog from several NPCs just to finish that quest. Being able to kill almost every NPC in the game and having that influence quest progression and dialog is something I've never seen before in a fully-voiced game. New Vegas included.

Gothic is older than most of the reviewers and commenters here. What do you expect? xD

"game journalism" and "modern gamers" are just crybabies that can't handle anything harder than press [X] to win
lack of self-reflection doesn't allow them to confess that they are simple degenerates, and they call the game bad because it hints straightly how hard they suck even at playing videogames

the game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gem, even if it is a rough one

That sounds neat.
