Report a translation problem
Myself I solved the quest by finding the NpC, but it seems safer to at least read the diary.
So try speak Duras, if not don't bother, find the diary, then the NPC body, and so on.
Light into the Darkness is related to Duras and Barin's chest as @Dorok says.
- Some quests could be failed, and when it fails you don't have anymore much choices.
- Some quests could just disappear because of a previous choice/event/action. And sometimes it's a quest that won't leave the quests log.
- Many quests allows do some steps in disorder or even before quest started, which can be troubling but also generate some dialog glitches like about event not happened yet or not known yet by main character.
- Plenty quests progression require report to some NPC and it's not always quest giver. This aspect is rather uncommon and can generate troubles.
- Some quests closed will allow anyway do various steps of the quest if not all in some cases.
- Some quests progression are linked to select a dialog with a NPC despite this dialog looks like just a role play choice you could not want do.
- Some quest node/leaf are paused, you can't do anything with them, it waits some event/progression to be unlocked, but you won't get clear information when it is unlocked, so you need check them back time to time.
Moreover you can not only select a leaf in the tree of quests in quests log, but also many nodes, and sometimes select a node is providing a key marker not provided by children.
Plus for any node or leaf in tree of quests, you can select its dialog to get the information, sometimes it can help when lost with a quest.
