because not all materials cost same. higher lvl = more materials and more expensive materials.
In my opinion a good alternative is rush to level 2, and delay level 3 a bit more after to have progress the overall character building and if level 3 requires extra attributes not fitting you plan for first character building.
Thais also will help to balance gameplay, so I will need money almost till the end I think, which definitely make gameplay more interesting.
Trophy and normal hunting won't allow it either. For sure explore al lot and well brings a lot of money, but up to break economy, I wonder.
The point is crafting can spend a ton of money, but you can also ignore most of it by using some special great unique weapons not more powerful than a max crafted standard weapon, but free cost and powerful enough.
If you want craft a lot most chance that you'll need more money until last parts.
Or you could do like I do: after going out hunting and selling trophies, make sure you have left a fixed amount of each kind of trophy, like 100 for less expensive items such as claws, teeth or feathers, and 30 or 40 for rarer and more expensive items such as chitin armor, ivory plate or dark leather.
