Angry Joe is a complete casual gamer and didn`t know anything how to play these games. In his Risen 1 review he even complained that the game doesn`t pause when he checks the map and that there isn`t any glowing questmarker. (Oh no I have to think for myself !)
His Risen 2 review is the only legit. Risen 2 really got serious disappointments and problems but he didn`t acknowledged any strenghts of the game which were there.
For Risen 3 he just made a short gameplay where he proved what a ridiculous noob he really is. He completely sucked at the beginning. Didn`t understood that he is at the beginning weak and shouldn`t attack very strong enemies. He just rage quitted and ran to the Amazon webside where he gave a bad rating for the game.

You see here that he made a completely garbage job as a neutral reviewer and I think Deep Silver should have sued him for the image damage he did to the english market of the franchise.

Now to you fanboys. Stop spamming that Elex will be a bad game just because your incompetent god emperor Joe told you !

...I can add only: As so many of them before & after Angre Joe's 'fame', made & will make ass from their mouth just for few more dollars, that's it, I just ignore them. At the beginning all of them are has some reasonable reviews but once they receive more money with more views they just want more views for more money, getting more & more greedy...& in the same time: their future contents has less & less reasonable reviews about games, movies, etc. ... :-)

Morrowind is definitely my favorite action-RPG in general, though the entire Gothic series comes pretty close as well.

While I have enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim a bit, I've always felt that Bethesda was going in the wrong direction by cutting down on the actual RPG elements in favor of more action and linear story. Not to mention their writing in general has been getting much worse for RPG standards.

Daggerfall is where I draw the line, as I believe Morrowind really improved on the design despite reducing the total content. Thing is, Morrowind has a lot more unique content than Daggerfall, as Daggerfall's content is very much copy-paste. Daggerfall is a huge game, but it's very quantity over quality.

I laughed while reading the glowing quest marker line. I like Joe, but that is fuunny. to be fair to him, he did give dragon's Dogma an 8 iirc, for the original console release (pre-dark arisen) and mentioned the fast travel issues (pre-dark arisen) as the only major peeve which I agreed with since it was also mine after about 100 hours or so lol. He doesn't necessarily have entirely awful taste in action rpgs, the risen-type series just may not be for him is all. He just didn't enjoy it, so he didn't get into it which meant he didn't value it.

Don't waste time on trying to make some sense out of clown's random throat sounds. It may sound like actual words, or maybe even sentences, but that's just misleading.

Yes, he did say some surprisingly nice things about the game. However, I couldn't get over that he claims to have played Gothic 1 and Gothic 2, (this was a LONG time ago, and I can't find the reference any longer, but I ASSURE you, he did) and he claimed "he really enjoyed them" yet didn't really seem to know who PB was. Perhaps he just forgot, but I just get the feeling he didn't actually play the games and is instead just using those games for gamer cred.

I played every Gothic and still didn't know or cared who PB was. It takes a serious amount of work to get me to remember a studio or music artist anime studio direct ect but frankly I don't give a ♥♥♥♥, I just want to watch or play your piece of entertainment and move on with my life.

Half the time I do know one it's because other people won't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stop talking about them, then there's the handful of times my mind was blown that I grudgingly found some ♥♥♥♥♥ just so I can keep track of more games from them.

Now I don't care for or against Angry Joe but you all sound like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I don't see why this matters, reviewers (other than him) will equally save or utterly destroy the game depending on their opinions whether or not you wanna fanboy guard the game, so just pray it's decent otherwise it's going to get ♥♥♥♥ on like every other average game (which isn't the same as a bad game).

Angry Joe helped build his brand by attacking the games of a low-budget developer and misunderstanding everything about the game along the way. All of his Risen reviews were varying degrees of nonsense... yet his fanbase just ate it up, and PB suffered heavily for it.

I prefer Might and Magic series than Arena or Baggerfal :) Back to Morrowind, the game was awesome. The keywords (tag) dialog system is so useful, unlike nowadays wheel of dumbness. A lot of books to readand a lot of quests. The only thing I hate is a Cliff Racer - that scum has made me really mad for sometimes :)

What he said in this video was nice but it doesn`t fix the damage he caused. Because of him many of his fans will asociate PB games with his dumb reviews.

It must have been a LONG time ago if he remembers enjoying Gothic 1 & 2 but found Risen 1 & 3 to be too hard.

Either that or he's just heard of them and hasn't really ever played them.

I don't even hate Angry Joe, I just think his opinion is worthless on the subject of these games. He either never gave them a chance or he simply wasn't patient enough to realize how you're supposed to play.

I agree with OP completely. Although I do enjoy Angry Joe's reviews, his thoughts on the Risen franchise is completely wrong. I am sad that it destroyed the game's reputation becasue out there we have games that really do deserve trashing. Joe realized his fanbase liked his bashing on the franchise since the beginning, so he just kept doing that. Elex is gonna be better then Risen 2 and 3 I am sure of that and if he does a review or a video of some sort i really do hope he does it right this time.
