Anyone found the elevator winch yet?

I've been wandering the valley for about 3 hours now and haven't found it. Closest I saw was a corpse with a note on it saying he had found something that could have been the part in the river, but I haven't seen the winch itself.

Its actually close to the waterfall itself. Look for a bunch of those glowy orbs on a peninsula like feature. Its on the land between all the orbs. Very close to the lift itself. Also its just a gear :)

What about the winch itself? I have the gear, but the operator is dead.

wow, think you need him inorder to fix the lift guess your stuck with using your jet pack going down...i could be wrong. go were you first met him and see if any there that you can examine maybe(even then if there is you will need probably craft be high enough)

The winch is that large wooden structure connected to the waterwheel at the Great Lift site. You have to give the gear to Sten. If you killed him, that's it, quest dead just like him.
