Still do not get XP from reading Material

I very rarely get XP from reading material in the game with the latest patch. I am using the GoG version, through GoG Galaxy with auto updating on. Here is what I found through investigation

I started a new game after the latest patch came out. I very rarely see XP from reading material, as far as I can tell I am only getting XP from reading material that is quest related.

When I put back in my old saves before the new patch was released and I read all the written material I had in my inventory and I get XP for every single one of them. I went a picked up some new written material and I got XP for them.

So it looks like your fix for the XP for written material was only a fix for games started before the patch, but it has not been fixed for games that started after the patch came out.

Hmm I have no issues here but I'm using the steam version

Seems to be hit or miss. I get it from most of them, most of the time. They might have a bug left.

I didn't spec Bookworm I have a necklace with it and I went through and reread every book and note, got xp just fine. Without the Bookworm it was hit and miss with the xp and reduced xp at that.
I had no issues with my current play through and I was 34 hours into the game when the patch came out, all I had to do was sleep and wake up and I was able to get the XP for reading.

I tried using the amulet, and it didn't make a difference for me. Does look like a hit or miss thing, and in my case 99% miss.

It works fine for me after the patch. This might be an issue of the GoG version.

EDIT: I had stored the letters and books in a container and picked them up again for XP after the patch. Maybe that will solve the problem.

I'm using the necklace with that skill and I always get XP except in some very rare occasions, but I just assume those might be duplicates of things I already read. I'm using the Steam version.

I works fine for me, Bookworm too.

I play the GOG version, I equipped the Scientist Amulet and was able to get experience for all of the stuff I have previously read BEFORE the patch.

I also got EXP for stuff i found and read before the patch and also the new stuff i read. Photos don't give any EXP though, maybe you (Eisberg) clicked one of those?

Eisberg, I saw your post on the Elex community forums. Could you try this the next time you play and report back?
