Understanding Cold
Note Drinking Elex Potions will increase your cold by 0.1 point per botttle. Consume wisely.

0 - purely emotional
1-10 - expressive
11-20 - irrational
21-30 - spontaneous
31-40 - intuitive
41-59 - neutral
60-68 - dispassionate, should be 60-69, the 69th text is bugged and states purely emotional
70-78 - mellow, again should be 70-79, the 79th text is bugged and states purely emotional
80-88 - logical, and again should be 80-89, the 89th text is bugged and states purely emotional
90-99 - ice cold
100+ - synthetic

I've been pretty lucky, I've drunk a lot of elex potions, but I've also managed to pick all the options in Conversations that give the "Cold Decreased" option.
My character has never changed from "Neutral" and I'm level 20

I know this one is really old, but do you by chance happen to know how much eating pure elex increses cold?

It's very important to note that the size of the potion does not change in how much cold is increased. Craft all the small elex potions you can. I sold off everything near the end and it cost me about 30,000 to 40,000 to build enough small potions to go from irrational all the way up to neutral. I also tried just consuming all medium elex potions and had nowhere near the amount of success as just drinking small potions. Again, craft the small potions to bump up your coldness. :)

if you only want cold value it's much more efficient to just consume raw elex. elex supply's main bottleneck.

I believe larger potions do increase coldness more than than smaller ones, but it's not proportional to the amount of Elex needed to craft it. As v0 says, the most efficient way is just by eating fistfuls of raw Elex. Poor Jax...
All Elex items each increase cold by 0.1.

Prior to one of the patches in 2017 or 2018, it may have been 0.2 per Strong Elex Drink.

Lol! I played the game very differently than most so I didn't even realize you could consume the elex raw. I covered the entire map points, did every side quest you could do, and every companion mission possible before I joined a faction and started chapter 2. I think that I also included all the Converters too. Once I started seeing the Elex potions I just thought I had to create potions and not eat it raw. Would have saved me a lot of time just eating it raw. Oh, well. Game is done and I got the neutral ending so I'm ready for Elex 2!

On the main character record screen in the bottom right corner. You only get to see the verbal description, not the raw number, however:
