It is a bit boring to do but at least you dont have to spend an arm to BUY natural elexit.
The mutant zone i am referring to is South-East Tavar or the Small Farm in Domed City, farm them like crazy for Elex.
So there is really no need to start grinding; story is throwing weird loads of enemys to slay your way through, just keep sure you got the trophy skill on max.
Anyway, if you want to kill alot of mutants you have to go in Tavar, expecially south-east area. and there is another spawn area in the north Tavar in an abandoned settlement.
Also, Rottmelch or whatever the hell theyr name is, are easy mobs that net you natural elex, grind them if you are too low.
So it's possible since it's 2 years later this has changed. The ratio for upgrading small mental energy reserves aren't 1:1. Like I said it's been 2 years so it very well could have changed. It would be weird they'd make it so easy to upgrade them though

Further, traders reset their Natural Elex stocks already after exiting, so sleeping isn't necessary.
