That's from memory.
Edit - yep, forgot a stage.
In conversations with companion you can ask for instance how are we doing X? And you will see the same message.
They all have their patterns to what they or dont like.
General rule is that if you want to screw over a certain faction make sure you leave a companion of that faction far enough so they cant hear a conversation, to avoid minus affinity.
And of course, save before every line.
You must have an option turned off: the game 100% tells you if a companion likes/dislikes your actions.
Edit: oh, yep - it doesn't tell you beforehand. Think of each companion as part of the world - Arx will hate you being weak / helping the weak; Caja will hate you being 'evil' or going against beserker beliefs, Nasty will hate you being altruistic, Ray will hate you not taking revenge (big spoiler there) etc.
Well, they will still be perfectly good baits. Nasty who prefers melee over ranged combat is also a good instrument to make Albs pull own their melee weapons rather than the more deadly flamethrowers and automatic lazer rifles.
I went from True Friend to Neutral in one line with Falk. And the line was more of a minor casual observation than anything more serious. (I'll avoid spoilers on the specifics) Which was funny because he seemed to love everything else I did. Including joining the Outlaws.
Thats why I love C.R.O.N.Y. U4. (well one reason) He loves you as soon as you repair him and it never wavers.
Falk has very spoilerish reasons for acting the way he does. I was more surprised by the amount of drop than him not liking the line. But C.R.O.N.Y U4 is this game's Dogmeat. He never judges you.
Falk is not even human actually, he is a synth.
Thanks for the spoiler :(.
I was trying to avoid spoilers.
