Sit down and play Night of the Raven, would yeh?
Did you know that video games actually used to come in these things called boxes that you had to buy in these things called stores? It's true! Did you know there are platforms other than Steam? It's true! Did you know throwing over the gameboard and calling someone a 'peasant' proves only you know you've lost the argument but you're too pansy to man-up and admit you were wrong?
It's true.
The second Witcher was the worst of them all...
Night of the Raven was fun, but definitely not on the level of Witcher 3 or Gothic 1.
The Witcher 3 does not only get all the glory, because it is a good game. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is so highly rated, because it is an important game, it was a necessary game, when it came out, and it was a political thing.
Huge AAA projects were on the decline, we had the whole debate about EA and Ubisoft ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their game franchizes over and over and over again. Indie games were on their peak of popularity and success in this period. Every developer and publisher was trying to top each others DRM *cough Denuvo*, which came to the disadvantage of the players.
And then there was CD Project who had their platform GOG and dealt only with DRM free games and just released a huge AAA title without ANY DRM or anti-tamper technology.
I have a couple of friends who were only pirating their games, and let me tell you, when Witcher 3 got released it was the first time i have seen them go to a store and actually buy a game.
I dont think your opinion matters to anyone... The success of The Witcher 3 speaks for itself, Millions of players are enjoying this game, including the old RPG veterans, who grew up with D&D and later TES:Arena and Daggerfalls.
