Authentication error after 5mins of playing

Hi there, I've seen this complained about before but no general solution posted. I've just bought and installed forts however am only able to play approximately 5mins of gameplay before I receive the authentication error.

As a test I left it running in the menu for upwards of 5 minutes and did not receive the crash however I have experienced it in skirmish, campaign and multiplayer attempts.

I have tried the many simple suggestions posted before (re-installing, verifying files, restarting steam, turning off Anti-virus, adding game to trusted list etc.).
