I'm moderately defensive and usually go something like: mines, cross brace near foundations, a turbine, tech building, another mine, storage, machine guns, another tech building, sniper, fill out structure, turbines, shield for turbines, sandbags, bigger weapons, armour, etc.
Avoid building unnecessary structure as it means less resources for vital stuff, and more weight.
It's worth watching the replays afterwards to learn how other people play. You can also set the AI against itself in multiplayer by making yourself an observer, to see how it plays. These forts are scripted by me and Blammo.
Check our updates for the pro-tips.
and try to get use to all the maps, know how to expand to those mines quickly, and how many wind turbines needed for beginning, that is crucial cause if you can construct mines faster means you are slightly ahead of your opponents.
lastly dont waste your time, if you dont have resources or power to do anything, press space bar, analyze your enemy structure, best if you found a weak point that will collapse most of their stucture with just a easy shot or a single cannon shot when you have it later.
