How do you deal with fire?
Sometimes my repair machines are too far away and theres just enough fire to keep spreading endlessly without any option to put it out so it spreads and destroys my base if it catches fire in the wrong area. How do I avoid this

Press the 'r' key on your keyboard to star repairing everything under your mouse. You can also hold the key down and sweep your mouse back and forth to cover everything. Technically, you don't even need a repair station at all but it can be convenient.

If you haven't tried it yet, the Campaign levels are a good introduction to Forts mechanics.
