About cannons.
If cannons were a solid standard back in the days, now it's probably the weak link of the whole arsenal. It takes long to pop out one, will monopolize most of your ressources, his reloading isn't fast and since his puissance has been nerfed you can't only rely on it. Actually i hardly find a viable strategy to make them worth it. Still a decent additional weapon if the game lasts much longer than expected and if you have extra ressources but these situations are quite rare.

Somewhat the same goes for the 20mm cannon now, good for weakening opponent's defenses but not a lethal weapon. Two paired 20mm cannons can be useful in 3v3 or 4v4 on a back row but otherwise you will likely have much better options.

Most of time i would rather go for missilles/warhead or beams over cannons. Faster weapons like EMP/upgraded rockets and shotguns in close combat / small maps. I can't find a room for cannons, what are your thoughts about them?

I think cannon is better at piercing armor.

cannon doesn't pierce, it breaks 1 armour and damage the 2nd layer of armour. The cannonshot has 700 direct damage (not splash) and armour has 400 HP. I think cannon is rather a weapon to weaken the enemy by making it repair more, but without any other weapon the cannon is useless. Lasers cost more but are real deadly weapons, the plamsa laser can break through 2 armour if fired with 5000 energy (it's harder to predict plasma laser damage because it has a "beamtable" instead of a simple projectile damage value), firebeams are also a good substitue for cannons, are they pierce a lot and, if fired on the core, 4 firebeam shots will destroy the core.

cannons work really well on opened gates though if u are daring enough to hit one

Cannons aren't precise, and the projectile speed isn't that high, so i think waiting with a laser which have instant "projectile speed" and is very precise woul be more effective, as there isn't a random probability of hitting somewhere else (assuming you are pro of aiming) and the plasma beam will hit the target before it can fire.

if u took aim already (cause people usually rebuild their damage)
and u just fire as soon as u can hear the servos u can still hit before they fire

Even if you aim the same spot, there is a good chance that it doesn't hit the same spot.

and cannons aim less upward than lasers, and cannons's projectile is affected by gravity.

Lasers or canons, its more like in what base spot (situation) your in, for example the canon takes resources more than energy, but the laser takes a ♥♥♥♥ ton of energy, meaning that you really need to focus on adding windmills & batteries, adding too many batteries can be dangerous since they explode, + the canon is not as tall as a laser means you dont need to waste as much space, but the canon is weak just pearcing 1 armour and damaging the 2nd layer. however if you have the chance add 2 of the 20mm canons, they are more effective in any way.
