Thanks for your interest in multiplayer, we think this is where Forts really shines.
Currently there is a lobby system. A player starts a lobby with some privacy options (public, friends, or private), plus maximum supported players up to 8. From the lobby anyone who joins can invite others on their friend list.
If set to friends then random people won't be able to join. Friends can see you playing and try to join.
People browsing for public games can narrow down the options based on approximate distance to the host.
We have some ideas for a ranked match making system but we have no time to implement it before launch on April 19.
Cheers,
Tim
That is wonderful!
I have friends to play with, but because of work, famlily, country, etc... our times can be very different...
And ranked match sounds really competitive.
Can we join other players from all around the globe or will it be separated by regions?
You can play people all over the world. The options are world, far, region, and close. Of course you can have issues with lag when playing internationally, but we've had some great games like that.
Tim
Ah thank you for the reply, looking forward for the release! Cheers!
