Strategy
Hey guys!

I was just wondering what is your strategy? What commander do you prefer and why? Do you shoot from the begining of a match or focus on building and upgrading? What commander you think is usefull / useless?

list of commanders

Dragon Army

ARCHITECT

passive: cheaper structure, higher storage capacity
active: 4x device, weapon and structure build speed

OVERDRIVE

passive: instant upgrade
active: boost production, 2x device and weapon build speed

HURRICANE

passive: faster build, faster repair
active: fast reload

Eagle Empire

FIREBIRD

passive: larger incendiary effect, slower fire spread
active: all weapons incendiary

WARTHOG

passive: better aiming, faster reload of heavy weapons
active: 25% increased damage to heavy weapons

EAGLE EYE

passive: sniper laser sights, better aiming and magazines
active: all weapons have explosives rounds

Iron Bear Alliance

PINCHFIST

passive: cheap repair, better reclaim and collectors
active: half cosst firing

SPOOK

passive: hide damage, see enemy resources
active: see inside enemy fort, steal resources

ARMOURDILLO

Lets have a discussion!

Build all the mines possible (consider that some prebuilt mines are placed that badly they take up the spot for 2 mines, so tare them down), build a floor with backgroundbracing where turbines are ~100% efficent, build the turbines, rush to factory, prepare spot for canons/lasers with 3 doors+ each, wait for resources to build one heavy weaponary, armor up after that and try to put down two more heavy weaponary as soon as possible. Annihalate the enemy in a few shots.

Thats my basic "the enemy is not knowing what he is doing" strategy.

Commanders that I find usefull in general are overdrive and architect.

If you lack creativity use eagle eye or firebird, just line up 6-9 miniguns and the game is over.

Armourdillo is good if there's an enemy with miniguns that just waits for your canondoor to opens to shoot that heavy piece down, Pinchfist for someone that starts with early attacks (most likely supressing fire with mortars) and if you know the map you are going to play on has not the best turbine spots.

Hurricane is for me only usefull if there's a map with plenty of resources so you can get down fast production and rush to canons/lasers quickly. For everything else ... meh. Not bad but not particullary good aswell.

Warthog yeah kinda neat for heavy machinery but to be honest if you have heavy machinery you mostly got enough firepower to delay the enemy long enough to keep that up. You dont need that extra damage. Except if you play against someone experienced and you know he is going to pulverize your base if you dont hurry hurry hurry.

And Spook .... No. If he could sabotage enemy weapons or lay explosives down that would be very neat. But stealing some resources? If you are that far behind with production that neither architect nor overdrive is better suited for that you can essentially surrender.

That to say from my experience of multiplayer. But to be fair, some people admitted its their first few games and they didnt even bother to play anything of the campaign ... And im sitting here with all the achievements except the one that is bugged.

rushing to factory is a noob strat

1. if you consider building a factory a good idea, youve lost.
2. never build a factory
3. i am currently the best player world wide at forts. ive have consistnetly won tournaments and beaten all the streamers and youtubers so i know what im talking about. i also have 300 hours because i bug test for the devs and make maps.
4. mortars are the strongest weapon in the game. they deal the most damage when considering how fast they fire
5. mortars are also better because they can be built alot quicker, and getting a upgrade center allows for miniguns and ap snipers as well.
6. as long as your good with miniguns/ snipers, the opponent will never be able to build a machine gun defence, meaning mortar will auto win every game ever.
7. when choosing commanders i would consider warthog, overdrive and pinchfist for obvious reasons.

So many people rush to big guns right away

My favourite commander is Spook because we can see the weakpoints and see who is doing what to prevent been attacked by deadly weapons.

In the maps like Up & Down, when I', in down, I usually rush to fatory because It's harder to play missiles and mortars.

On vanilla i sometimes do the following:
-place a workshop behind your gunner
-place a mine on the left
-wait - maybe fortify a bit(backgroundbracing)
-place 2 missiles in the back
-place one or two wind turbines up top
-sell mine, place missile launcher there
-sell battery/metal storage, place sniper there instead
-fire 3 missile launchers at once

and from there, you can place a single mortar to distract the flak/mgs while your missiles crush your enemy

Counters:
-place Bracing in front of your base
-since i havent got much mg's/flak i can easily be shot by mortars, etc.
-AP-Sniper
-just survive the early game, with my strat you only have 2 mines
-...
