Dat English voiceover tho.
I admit I usually belong to the group of people, who wish for an English voiceover for their Japanese games even if that destroys the kawaii factor, I believe some people also call us "heretics".

But for Dragon Quest Heroes I am gladly using the Japanese voices. Gave the English version a few tries but... no just no! All the female vendors on your ship use the exact same actress, the British accent for most characters is really thick and Alena appearantly was voiced over by Micky Mouse himself.

So yeah, seems for the first time ever I am member in this willingly using the Japanese version club. Anybody welcome me please? Where is the free booze? A special jacket with a nice emblem would be nice, it's cold out there. None with crossed arms this time though, please and thank you.

:blanc:

Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention I love this game! After forcing AA onto it that is. Cute as Dansgaming when he opens a fan-sent package.

I find myself going back and forth between English and Japanese voices. On the one hand the English voice work is pretty bad. On the other hand, I'm glad to finally have a warriors game with English voice over, I can watch the scene instead of staying glued to the text.

Just liking Japanese voices makes you a weaboo? I thought there was more to it than that.

You telling me you have something against the Weeaboo Coalition? Is the glorious Nippon Empire not to your liking?

This is the first Musou game that I've gone with the English acting if there was an alternative, I think it's great.

Yeah well, to each their own I suppose. If you like it you should use it. :FF:

If it has cookies, I'll like it. If it has cake or pudding instead, I'll love it.

Dynasty Warriors always has English voiceoptions, and they are usually very good. Some characters might seem weird but that's just preferences imo. Bladestorm also has English voiceacting and the French accents made that acting more immersive imo.

In the past there were also some of the Samurai Warriors games with English voices, I believe it was 2 and 2 Empires, not quite sure anymore. But they quit on them for smaller audience I guess. There was even one single Dynasty warriors where they were offering (terrible) German voices, but it was really just one single game (afaik) they never made that mistake again, haha. The Orochi game series used to have English voice options for the first two titles, and dropped them at the third spinoff.

Getting and paying 147 English VAs for WO3 was out of the question for KT. The realized that they could save more money just skipping out on the English dubs, which is why OPPW3, WO3U, and most of their recent games only have the Japanese voices.

Quite honestly, I am surprised how often they manage to hire back the English VA of older games. Sometimes voices change, which is always irritating at first, but it does not happen as much as I would expect it to given the timeline of DW and the smaller number of western players.

I almost threw up when I heard "that's right" before you can switch to Japanese VA. English dubs are not good for my health.

They have no problem paying 147 professional japanese voice actors, but don't have the money to pay 147 failed actors and/or former Power Rangers for the english version?

Joking aside i wouldn't want to miss Inoue Marina as Bianca although i could do without the Rie as that annoying slime thing.

The thing is, many of the JP voice actors are friends of the Omega Force/KT developers and work for MUCH cheaper/less pay than English VAs because of the studios and VA guilds that they belong to.

I personally like the EN voice acting. It at least gives the translators' affection for accents a bit more meaning.

What I hate is that the names of certain characters were changed in the English dub, like Isla is called Julietta.
