Question about the source port?
I have source DLC installed and on. Now does that mean that I am running the game as source engine port? or do I need to run it some other way? Also I have 144hz monitor yet frame rate is capped at 60fps. Should I run Freesync? sometimes enemies would be set to move to the frame rate. So I understand the capping and I am fine with it.

No, source port just means that the Source code was modified to support modern features like 4k and windows support.

This game originally is a DOS game from 1994. Which you can still play since buying Systemshock EE gives you classic.

You don't need the source engine for this and it didn't use an ID Tech engine like Doom.

So you are good to go and play it
Doesn't need an engine from the early 2000s to run the game nor the Systemshock game engine would handle source Engine

Source port is just another way of saying bringing and old games source code up to date

An example of a source port would be like Half life and Half Life Source

Half life is built on GldSrc which is a modified Quake Engine
HL Source was ported to the Source Engine

I hope you will understand this
I can get your confusion.
