Nice to see the old (and less well-known) Microprose games coming back. :) I have a question though: The original game that I played in the 90s, had a very annoying bug: Whenever one of the dozens of AIs happened to arrive at a Star System that met a certain condition (I think some value like defense strength had to be zero, I don't remember which one exactly), then that AI would get stuck and never move again in the entire game. That made the game pretty much unplayable since there was zero competition. ...

Somehow in 1993 I missed this one. Surprising. Looks like prime material for a remake, IMO.

Has there ever been a way, modding or otherwise, to speed up the ship to ship combat? I tried to find videos on YouTube and they are hard to come by, if at all. Too much Guardians of the Galaxy apparently choking up the search query. ^^! Regardless what I have seen looks reeaaallllyyyyy slow and basically unplayable. I understand there is a way around it with just automatic combat, but that defeats the purpose of having the other portion in the game. The concept of the game sounds great, I just need it...
