Mouse button binding - XButton1, XButton2, MMB, scroll

I must admit, I've already posted this as a reply in a different thread. But that thread wasn't specific to mouse binding and it's so important that I think it warrants its own thread. I don't want it to get lost in the "noise" of other threads.

It's absolutely standard for gaming mice to have 7 distinct actions and even your average cheapo "office" mouse generally offer these. Specifically, the actions are:

Left mouse button;
Right mouse button;
Middle mouse button (i.e. "clicking" the scroll wheel);
Scroll up (i.e. roll the MMB/scroll-wheel upwards);
Scroll down (i.e. roll the MMB/scroll-wheel downwards);
"XButton1" (also known as "Thumb button 1");
"XButton2" (also known as "Thumb button 2");

These should all be bindable, especially XButton1 and XButton2 (the "thumb buttons"). There aren't enough buttons on a mouse to allow any to go to waste and the thumb buttons are especially useful because of their easy accessibility (they literally sit right under your thumb).

Also, weapon switching with the scroll wheel is so standard these days that I find myself instinctively scrolling the wheel to change weapons. And then I immediately die, because it doesn't!

I don't really mind the fact that "сock" is unbindable and fixed to RMB, or that "fire" is unbindable and fixed to LMB. But that's probably because they're the buttons I would naturally use anyway! So personally I wouldn't mind if these actions remained unbindable and fixed to LMB/RMB but I don't see why they shouldn't be rebindable.

The really important ones are XButton1, XButton2, MMB and scroll up/down. You're wasting 5 of our 7 mouse buttons! We don't have enough mouse buttons to let any go to waste really, so when the majority of them are unbindable and completely useless this is a big problem!

This is an easy change and it would make the game so much more fun. I'm sick of dying because I'm groping around the keyboard looking for some action that should be right under my thumb on XButton1!
