I use the Logitech F710 (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/controllers/wireless-gamepad-f710) so I bet the Xbox360 would be accepted.

On the main menu, select "Options" - "Controller" to configure it.
You don't need to activate it or select it in the options: like most games, the game will use it if you start using it instead of keyboard and mouse. This includes navigating in the game menus.

Just for the record you can use an X360 controller to play. Alls of the new Serious Sam games allows this including BFE since they share a realitivly same engine. Serious Engine 3

Im using an xbox 360 controller for windows and runs perfect. It even has autoaim to help a lil bit. There are people not used to w,a,s,d for movement, so I prefer a controller.
