If there isn't some sort of story/ in game flag blocking you maybe the program can't write to disk? Right click on the application in your games list and go to properties. Check the local files location to see where the game is installed. It will probably be something like:
" C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stranger of Sword City"
You might try right clicking on "StrangerOfSwordCity.exe", selecting "Properties", checking "Run this program as an administrator", and then "Apply". If that doesn't help you can clear the setting out and check the drive where the game is installed to ensure you have space available.
Once you return to the base where you can heal, create team-mates, shop... Settings > Save Game
there is no point stating your opinion here. this discussion is 2 years old so everyone here is moving already
Good to know, I was just trying to figure out this myself. Glad I only spent a couple of bucks on this. Off to the rubbish heap it goes. I won't play a game that I can't put down when I need to.
There are also butterflies scattered about all the dungeons that can teleport you back to base.
If you have play 3-5 hours then you can take the time in those hours to go back and save it is just a matter of reorganizing your game and believe me when I say you will be running back often as you will be almost at death's door a lot. This isn't a game you can go on fighting for a long time without returning to the base to get mana back. Once your healer is out of mana you better go back.
In my humble opinion this game is worth trying to play and making a bit of effort to go back and save. It is a loss if you do not at least try it if you have already bought it. I think that after the initial hesitance you might feel about the inconveniences you will be going back and saving without further thought to it.
I am always afraid I may lose all the progress I have made so like a coward I go back frequently to save and secure my progress throughout the game
