Game frequently crashes during gameplay..
So I'm playing on a laptop that can easily handle the system requirements, and even still playing on medium graphics settings the game keeps crashing. It has happened 3 times tonight alone and I can't find any reason for it. Just playing single player skirmish mode. No insanely huge battles going on just standard gameplay.. what is going on?! anyone else experience this?

Something is screwing with the game some how.

Are you by chance running Windows 10?

Yep Windows 10, 64-bit. Any idea what it could be?

Windows 10 would be my guess. It has loads of problems running older games. Why? No idea. Just seen loads and loads of people with Win10 lament over then inability to run older games properly. :(

I have the same problem since yesterday but isn't the Steam Eidtion designed to work on Windows 10?
I mean the game worked perfectly fine the time before but since yesterday it keeps crashing all the time.

Looking at the requirements, it is listed there. *Shrugs*

I contacted Firefly Support... if they have a solution that works for me I will share it with you guys. Unless somebody comes up with a solution first.

Thanks man.
And yeah it was working perfectly until very recently. I'm guessing they've tried to update/patch something and it's fuxd it up somehow. So damn annoying cos I love this game!

a good start is to verify the game files, it can be found by rightclicking on the game and selecting "Properties>Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache." i had startup and load-game crashes a lot on Windows 7 and that seems to have fixed them. I dont personally have an option to "Set File as Admin," but if you do then you can probably run the game in compatibility mode.

I'll try that thanks!

for me that didn't work, I tried it before - it replaced 2 files but the crashes occured again. I am now trying out some solutions the support suggested for me and I'll let you know if any of them worked for me.

Ok, so they told me to delete the StrongholdLegends.GraphicsSettings.xml file from here - C:\Users\\Documents\Stronghold Legends and run the game.
I did this and it worked. So I hope this will help you.

I'll give this a go later tonight, thanks.
Just a bit apprehensive when it comes to deleting files, just wondering if I delete it and it doesn't fix it and does some irreversible damage lol

Then back up the files before you delete them.

Hi!
I bought the game Stronghold Legends Steam Edition and I'm going through the same problems. I use Windows 10. However, since the game is from Steam, the path you mentioned does not exist on my computer. I searched all the folders in the game and did not find this XML file. Any idea what I can do?

In Users there's a folder with the computer/accounts name on it. My Documents is in there.
