Multiplayer activity: worth the purchase?
Hey guys, I was very active back in the days and I am now thinking about purchasing the steam-edition. However, as I am only interested in multiplayer, could some of you tell me about the mp activity? Are there still people out there playing online or is it (more or less) dead? Don't want to make the purchase just to find out there is noone online.

Appreciate it!

There are games online everyday, however these games can only be accessed through GameRanger or if you are on that game's Hamachi network. (I play w/Hamachi with my friends on SH L a lot.)

Thanks for your answer. I thought the idea of a remastered steam-edition was to implement multiplayer again that is apart from all this Hamachi/GameRanger thing?

stronghold legend steam edition and stronghold 2 steam edition doesn't need game ranger or hamachi, you just need go to multiplayer in the main menu you will direct to player list, then you can host or join game.. the only problem is no one seem to be playing the multiplayer game, the lobby always empty and the connection is so sadly not good, stronghold 2 even worse connection..

Older games such as this usually have smaller multiplayer communities. The only way around that is to build a large friend list of people that do play. Once that's done, you'll have a group of experienced players that don't rage quit and will give you a good battle. I did this with a great deal of success when I used to play Stronghold Crusader 2.
