Bioshock 2 [Remastered] - random crashes

Hello and good morning, evening when ever you read this. I've crashes after 40 to 60 minutes of playtime. The game goes black and throws me on my desktop with the error message "Bioshock 2 Remastered has stopped working". It doesn't happen in particular situations just after some minutes after playtime and this drives me crazy.

Before these crashes happenend I had one big crash before. As i tried to press space as the game loaded for the first time. It always had crashed there and I've fixed as I changed "HavokThreadNumber" at "C:\Users\roman\AppData\Roaming\BioshockHD\Bioshock2\Bioshock2SP" from 2 to 1. After that I could play with out this "spacebar crash". But now I'm experiencing these little crashes.

Does anyone has a solution for my problem or should I stick to the original?

Nope. Only solution is to save often.

The fix I posted seems to only help for bypassing New Game/Load and no matter what INI tweak I've tried, I can't seem to make it stop crashing randomly.

That's too bad.. I liked the new textures but yeah..

Well, I just finished the game - nicely enough, there were no crashes in my last session (from fontaine futuristics flower gathering onwards)
Though when they did happen, they were rather annoying. Anyone know if the game has error logs somewhere I can check?

Strange. I myself have had no crashes (10 hrs play time) until today, and now I've had eight in 2 hours of playtime (from Dionysus onwards). Has there been a subtle update gone through without me noticing?

Do the crashes seem to happen in battle-arena segments? That seems to have been the case for me - i.e. when Lamb reports on Wales' death, the second Wales battle, and the lockdown after gathering a second ADAM flower- maybe it's too many corpses or animations at once or something?

This thread is for a separate issue on save-load. If you feel like saving often manually is too hard to deal with BS2 remastered's random crashes, Bioshock 2 original is most likely more stable.

I had 0 issues with BioShock Remastered but this one just keeps on crashing for no good reason...

This is crashing for me as well, but not every time, yesterday I played all day without a single crash, today I had one.

Crashes more than a Malayasian airliner! I played BS3 and enjoyed it so much i got BS2 remastered. Should have read the reviews first. Its a awesome game and i have tried all the bug fixes to no avail. It does seem to usuallly crash in the heat of battle with a lot of enemies on screen.

I played both BS1 & 2 remastered and while BA1 did not crash at all, BS2 crashed 3 times (or so). Every crash for me was when I was in a large battles with lots of noise and fire exploding on the screen right in my face.

So, I think that maybe different play styles maybe have more crashed than others. I try to kill from a distance and let bots and turrets do most the work (if possible) and had very few crashes, but if you play more melee and are always in the middle of lots of screen action I can see it crashing a lot more in that situation.

Who knows, at least I didn't have any problems :)

Bunch of Random crashes whilst streaming to my steam link. link wont let me close the game so i usually have to restart whole system. disappointing. does the non remastered version of the game do this?

Remastered version comes with original version for free.
Try it out and you tell us.

I still have the exact same problem as the OP but i cannot get to a solution for this, it crashed today in a zone with no enemies, or fights, just randomly crashed and ai had to finish the process with the task manager
