Stronghold Crusader HD

Constant Crashing Issue (Question)(SOLVED)
Hey! I finally figured out what was happening. If you wish to know, here was my question before:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not sure if I am saying this in the correct place (I hope I am..) but if I am, I seem to be having this issue a lot of people seem to solve quickly. Of course, when I try to launch the game, it refuses to open, closing 3 seconds after being opened. I researched anything that could help, and a lot of people explained how I need to enable DirectPlay. Going into my legacy folder, I can see that it is already enabled... So what is my issue here? If anyone knows how to fix this, please feel free to share your information. I love this game and I wish to play it after years of being away from it. (If you need any more descriptions of the crashing, I'll gladly describe it in detail)

Thank you for your time

(After some of your suggestions, I believe I am having these issues because of something to do with me using Windows 10. I am not 100% sure, (Again, I am not really a computer genius.. it could totally be something else!) but thanks for trying to help! I'll keep trying to fix this issue)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was able to fix this months later when moving my computer. After changing my room up a bit, I had to unplug my computer in order to safely get it to the other side of my room. When done so, I believe it fixed my crashing issue with this game. Another solution that I have possibly found was because in the "Properties" section of the strong hold game, I typed in "-dx11" in order to automatically open my game using DX 11 (DirectX 11), and that seemed to solve my issue, pulling the game up perfectly fine. Thanks for all the suggestions, it means a lot!

Have the same Issue with Morrowind.
It somehow works for me:
Start the Game. Wait til it stops.
Open Task Manager
Go to Services
Scroll through the List until you find something from Stronghold Crusader,
should only be one entry
close it manually
close Task Manager
You should now be able to start the Game.

Try running the game in compatibility mode

So I never actually heard of compatibility mode before, so I did try enabling it. It seems to have done something, but it is still oddly crashing. It now is giving me the option to open the game normally (Which it wasn't doing that before), but it's strange how it continues to crash. After a little more research, I'm getting the feeling that the game is not playable on Windows 10, which is what I am momentarily using, but I thank you a lot for the suggestion! It means a lot

So I tried closing one of the options related to Strong Hold crusaders (And I Apologize, I'm not very great with computers) and it didn't seem to do anything. I honestly think it's not working because I am using Windows 10, but I thank you so much for the suggestion! Maybe I did something wrong- I can do that sometimes.. But I'm just gonna keep researching until I find some kind of answer.. Thank you!

Windows 10 is not tan insurmountable problem.
I use it all the time.
Compatibility mode for windows XP service pack 2 should work.
You can. Also try installing DGvoodoo as it fixes many graphic problems which is usually the cause of crashes.

Interesting! I'll look into this DGvoodoo thing, thanks for the suggestion! Honestly, I am not 100% about my winDoWs stuff.. I really need to teach myself certain things. Also, sorry for the late reply! hEh Ha.. I'll keep trying to fix my game, thank you!

(I also will try that "Windows XP service pack 2" compatibility as well when not busy, I totally forgot to do that- MY BAD)

Did you enable ''DirectPlay'' under Legacy components in Windows Features options? I know that this thing can cause older games to not run at all until it's enabled.

He explained he checked that in the original message

(BAHA, sorry, I'm quite busy in real life and can't come on here much.. I also don't really know how to reply, kinda new to Steam and all.. I apologize for that) Yeah! That's what I thought the issue was at first, but I guess not? It's very confusing, why it won't open. Still tryin to figure that out.. But thanks for tryin to help!
