Multiplayer not working.

I have tried as much as I can think of to get this damn thing to work. I've port forwarded in accordance with gameranger, tried using Hamachi, used the 47624 portforward, turned off my firewall, and I've tried to connect with the ip alone. However nothing has been working and im at my wits end with this game. If someone has any information on what the ♥♥♥♥ im doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated because im about to smash my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TV inwards out of frustration.

How are you playing multiplayer? LAN? GameRanger? Hamachi?

If none of those are working, it's likely your anti-virus. Especially hidden anti-viruses, some of my friends didn't even know they had McAfee installed.

I have tried GameRanger and Hamachi. When playing with Hamachi im able to see their name pop up but im thrown back to the multiplayer tab when trying to join. And with GameRanger I get the Waiting for Host issue. What am I supposed to do with my anti virus should it be the issue?

I've had that same exact issue with the "being booted back after seeing the lobby name" issue. The fix was removing an external anti-virus. If you have one like McAfee or Kaspersky, i'd recommend uninstalling them for multiple reasons. Windows Defender is a perfectly fine AV and it's free, meanwhile "premium" anti-viruses use up more of your computers resources and tend to cause problems like the one your having.

tl;dr remove/uninstall any external anti-virus or find some way to get your anti-virus to ignore Stronghold Crusader.

I only have windows defender, so I highly doubt that it was the issue. I'm still messing with settings but still getting nowhere as of late.

I had the same problem but with lan. I got it to work when i set my ip manualy(it basicly changes every few mins). so it dosent change anymore.

This might sound a little cliche but have you tried restarting your computer or router?

For LAN games just disable uPNP from the Router/modem. it works

Game Ranger doesn't like playing with Steam. Just exit Steam, and when in a lobby, or asked to join a game. be sure to click continue, when second screen comes up. something about ports I think. And it goes along jsut fine.
