How to edit existing maps...
I found the files for the existing maps, however when I copy them over to folder to edit them they do not appear in map editor? (not playing lame extreme)

Also, I've been playing this game on and off since 2005. Unbeatable little RTS as far as simple RTSs go... <3

If I remember correctly from mapmaking, this is because developer maps are locked. There's no way around this except by downloading third party programs. You could do a bit of research on Stronghold map unlockers on google, though they might not work. Normally mapmakers in this community use lock/unlock programs to prevent stealing or plagiarism

Gunnies Unlocker on stronghold haven can unlock, I use that on the rare occasion i need to "fix" a vanilla map (some balanced maps arent really balanced)
