Stronghold Crusader HD

I can't get this game to run. When I try to play it nothing launches, nothing even seen in task manager. However it says it's running in the steam app. I declined downloading that additional thing cause I don't wanna play multiplayer anyway. Someone please help I just wanna play the game

My game also doesn't start from a first try. But then I go to task manager, kill the process and start the game again. And it works fine.

All of a sudden, I have this problem. Been playing for 60+ hours.

i would love to be able to play it. i'm stuck playing stronghold 2 right now. every time i try to play crusaders i have this problem

640x480 is small resolution of course, try without changing this

I tried all kinds of things. Nothing worked. Rebooted a bunch of times. Nothing. Walked away for a while, came back to PC still on, and it worked.

Went to properties and then compatibility.
check boxes "run in 640x480" and "disable display settings on high DPI"
and "run as admin" it works now.
I also downloaded crusader extreme idk if thats having any kind of impact
