Stronghold Crusader HD Not Launching Possible Solution for Windows 10

Ok, so I bought stronghold crusader HD here on steam and after installing, it did not launch. I did some sleuthing, tried many solutions and here is what finally worked for me:
1. open Control Panel
2. click Programs
3. under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows Features On or Off
4. wait for the list to load, then scroll down until you find an entry called Legacy Components
5. expand Legacy Components and check the box next to DirectPlay

And there you go, you should now be able to play. If this does not work by itself, or if DirectPlay was already checked, try running in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3 and make sure to run as administrator. Hope this helps.
