Level 4 SE - cant open gate

I cant find a way to open the gate to a little room (1 square). You can see a red item on the ground through the bars. The room is on the right side through the gate after you finish the ashes

Ok this is driving me crazy too. I got to this place and then backtracked all the way to level one after reading this. I've gone over it with what I believe to be a fine-toothed comb, and the only thing I can find amiss is that letter thing in the locked cell that you can't access. Is that the start of it, and if so, how the bloody hell do you open that cell door. I've spent so much time on this, and I'm going crazy over this. Help!

This is treasure hunt.

Level 1, pick up a paper and put in correct place, pick up another paper.
Level 2, put the paper on correct place, pick up another paper.
Forgot level 3 has any treasure hunt or not.
Level 4, put the paper beside the urn room, the cell door will open.

MOst importantly, there is no need to become crazy over treasure hunt.
It is completely optional, and the red orb you saw, only give you reroll point.

@Jinxtah,
you have a note to grab in a cell of the high security zone just in front of the dormitory where you start the game. (Turn on Item Highlighting in Options -> Game Options -> Helpers if you can't see it)

That's where the locked cell is with the note in it, no?
Good idea about the highlighting in general though. I'm sure I've missed loads of items as they're impossible to spot unless they're big like armor or robes.

It's the level 1 paper I can't access. It's in a locked cell, and there's no lever or otherwise to open it that I can find.

There might not be a reason to become crazy over it, and indeed I ended up giving up and going to level 5, but it's so shiny. I can't leave things behind like that. And there's a paper thing in there as well. I want to know what is written, but most of all I want the shiny red object, whatever it's for, because it's mine and I want it! :P

@Jinxtah,
the high security zone entrance is _exactly_ in front of the dormitory exit. (there's a little panel on its left wall)
The paper you noticed is in a cell on the left when leaving the dormitory and you can't reach it. But the one in the high security zone is reachable... :)
