Bunch of reviews are done by some nonames, other people are easy findable on deepfreeze, which already raises some questions. It is especially funny to see review by Leigh being promoted on official page of the game - i mean, noone in their right mind would call that as a credible journalist.
If you really dont need those 8$ or dont mind waiting for your money back after refunding (you will be able to refund after completing the game, it is 1.5h long) - go on and try it. Beware of actualy gameplay portions being buggy, but otherwise it is good portion of cringe, if you're into it.
Its kinda sad to see that nowdays we're getting titles like that being pushed into various awards and press. After all the gamergate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and SJWs getting into gamedev/game journalism, we're getting constant flows of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happening everywhere in the industry.
It dosent feels so femenist-ish though, its more of "im a naive girl and getting what i deserve for my inexperience and lack of clear thought", but it is clear that game is aimed to tumblrina audience with occasional sane people buying it mistakengly.
For the same value, you can get yourself a bunch of good games. Go grab Penny's Arcade or Chtulhu. Get Besiege, One Way Heroics, or even get some fun by gifting bad rats to your friends. Try Life is Strange ep1 - those are cheaper or equal-priced games that are doing their job far better than this bland blend of amateur movie with selfies and "wow look i can code".
thanks for the very informative reply man and it pretty much reinforces what i already thought about this "game". idk man i feel like a whiney ♥♥♥♥♥ constantly calling out these sjw/feminist shenanagins but we have all witnessed what feminism did to comic books and i refuse to let the same happen to the hobby i love. i want video games to be inclusive to everyone but we need to draw a line when people who clearly have no interest in and dont know ♥♥♥♥ about games suddenly show up and attempt to tell us what is and isnt acceptable. thanks again for the reply bro, was very informative.
On one hand, it tries to be story based, like To the moon or something. that doesn't make it bad except that the story is pretty niche and very short even f you do get invested in it. The gameplay also suffers as a result of the "story based" aspect. Overall, its not a terrible game but it could have been so much better.
Its not that the game is even SJW or feministish. As a feminist myself, i can say that doesn't have any real themes of political agenda, only the worst reviewers carry that setiment. You can play and enjoy the game if you're feminist or not and it shouldn't matter.
As with your female developers point, women can indeed create very good games (just look at Gravity Ghost), its just this really isn't an example of those. Its clear that the developer has talant, it just wasn't applied properly.
yeah sorry for being so cynical im just sick of all the pc nonsense thats trying to be injected into gaming. this whole thing just felt like another depression quest, i just want it to go back to being just about the games and i could trust game reviews.
not so much that the game itself pushes feminism but more that the dev is pro social justice, the game looks terrible and its recieved good reviews from reviewers who are also pro social justice. a journalist with integrity might call that "special interests".
I agree completely. I think she made it to tell her story.
lol there is nothing to understand about the gamer lifestyle as it varies depending on the gamer, it sounds like you are a gamer so you are living the lifestyle as well. the game looks like crap and you confirm as much and this its why i find it increadibly dubious some reviewers gave this game posative scores. you dont act like any other feminist ive encountered online as they would not have bothered having a conversation and gone right to calling me a sexist, you sure your not more of a humanist?

Wait...you are actually being serious? Holy crap, time to back away now.,.
What she should have done is just recorded a short movie. This gained nothing for being turned into a video game. We don't need to click around on her fake MMO, and we don't need to browse her desktop. She could have done those things herself in the movie. Seeing a fake MMO would have been fine for viewers. Playing a fake one is not fine for players.
Feminism=Humanism. That being said, no one gains anything by being irrational. (Like, for instance, giving this game a positive review.) I guuuuess I can see why people would relate to Cibel, though. I remember being that insecure and awkward...but I was 13 at the time, not a grown-ass woman. This piece would be better labled as an "interactive movie" rather than a game as a "game" implies that fun will be had.
