... you mean in private to a person you've met online...? Lots of people do this...? I met my husband online and we exchanged phone numbers and name online?

No one in the game necessarily their "complete identity." Other than pictures of themselves, first names, and general area (name of school/city), there's no evidence that more personal information was shared online from what we can tell in the game's story.

And that's less information than most people have on their public Facebook profile, and having a public Facebook profile is extremely common. Even if you don't do it, it's still a very realistic and common thing.

I don't see how doing something most people with internet access do is "cringe" and "lol"

A lot of real dating occurs online now days. Where have you been? We live in the age of twitter, cell phone texting, and whatever snapchat is, I don't even know. You meet people on some site, then agree to meet them somewhere IRL. But it'd typically be a public place, where as she invited the guy right over to her room on the first night, at age 19. That's not common until people get older. But she did, according to the game, know him for at least 6+ months, so he's not a complain stranger at this point. There were probably cybering it up for a good while, but she left that out of the game.

I wouldn't care. If you find my balls on Google images or something, you go ahead and have a wank pal.

Victim blaming isn't cool. The fact is it makes no difference whether it's online or in real life. It's just as possible for someone to violate your trust and take advantage of you in real life as it is online. It's just online the potential damage they can do is far greater. Speaking for myself I met both of my current partners online (we're poly). My best friend who is the person I've been closest to out of anyone I've ever known is someone I've never met in real life. I trust him with my life.

Sometimes you take chances on people and they disrespect your trust. It sucks when it happens but it doesn't mean that every time it does that person should be blamed for it. It all depends on the circumstance. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Most of the time people have good intentions. The fact there are those out there who enjoy taking advantage of those good intentions doesn't make the victims bad people or stupid or justify others chastising them for it.

Sorry but i dont really blame any victim. I only blame people who seek pity afterwards. Learn from it and trust no one. If you want to talk about yourself you can do this only without revealing your true identity.
