Then welcome to Super Meat Boy World! The world for non-casual gamers where your patience will be tested, and your persistance is your most effective weapon!
Nah, just take it easy. Is true, though. At first when you're playing SMB for your first hours you're feeling like "Oh My God, is this actually even possible? IS THIS POSSIBLE TO DO WITHOUT DYING!? 20 LEVELS IN A ROW!?!?". But as long as you keep playing, those thought will be disappearing.
Trust me, I suck at 2D platform games. I tried a lot of them and eventually got bored because I wasn't feeling any progress. SMB is the first one that kept me playing for a long time; not sure about the reasons, actually. Maybe this game had something I felt more addictive.
And here I am, blaming my patience when I only miss ONE achievement. This was something I was ABSOLUTELY SURE I wouldn't be able to achieve at first, and I still can't believe I got that far. But this is simply true: keep playing, and you'll be a boss.
Good luck!
Just like you, I wouldn’t have imagined that I could get almost all those no-death achievements. Many of them looked impossible to me three months ago. But time and practice really make you play better. I am now pondering doing Impossible Boy, but I’m not sure. Some levels are just terribly unforgiving and not even fun to be honest (I’m thinking 7-2X, 7-15X, 7-19X).
Congrats mate, go on it, you're close!
And yeah, it's pretty interesting how Girl Boy was WAAAY more frustrating than Zombie Boy for me, but I'm not sure if I can say it was harder.
Anyway, Impossible Boy is a nice paradox 'cause some levels are easier on their Dark World version than on the Light World one. 7-15x was actually easier for me than 7-15! There's a consistent pattern if you do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqiopDGfu_w
And yeah, 7-19x was a PAIN for me at first, but I eventually got the trick thanks to this other video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhTYcatsJCA
Trust me, the trick is so good this was my last level before getting the achievement: http://youtu.be/OCjYCgXE3D8
Good luck mate! Don't hesitate now!
Congratulations man! You now belong to that 0.1% of SMB population that has every achievements without any hack
Nice one dude!
When I got the achievement, I felt nothing but emptiness. I stared blankly at the wall, unsure of what I would now do with my life. Haha, just kidding, I immediately went back to improve my times on 7-2X and 7-20X because the no-death runs had forced me to use safe but slow routes.
0.01% might be too much since there's some challenge-lovers arround here. But I'd consider 0.05% or so
BTW this makes me think how stupid it is to hack achievements like SMB ones.
13-14-15-16-17-18-19 10-11-12 but it ended up being 18-19-20 7-8-9 1-2-3-4-5-6 13-14-15-16-17 12-10-11.
1 - Dark Rapture allows you to use different characters, which makes several levels significantly easier. For example, 5-10x can be exploited with Viridian, 5-1x can be circumvented almost entirely with the Kid, 5-6x is child's play if you use Ogmo, and 5-12x is much easier with the Kid. There aren't many levels in Cotton Alley that I find easily surpassable in the same way I find these levels.
2 - The hardest levels in Dark Rapture are not even close to as difficult as the hardest levels in Dark Cotton Alley. 5-8x, 5-19x, 5-9x, 5-15x, and 5-16x are the most difficult Rapture levels for me, but they don't scare me the way that Dark Cotton Alley does.
Anyway, I'm a little bit biased because I have yet to seriously try getting Impossible Boy (I'm sure I'll get it one of these days), but I don't imagine I'll do it nearly as easily as I did Zombie Boy. Just my two cents.
