Are the speedrun achievements broken?

I swear I've gotten as fast as I possibly can and they won't pop for the forest. (I have a cummulative score of 266 -not including warpzones- ) and I dont think I can do anything faster than that (both light and dark world)

I presume difficulty will exponentially increase as world 1 was not too tough. Although there was a jump in the darkworld. In anycase, I'm sitting on 450 deaths. I predict something like 55k-90k by the end of world 4 or 5

Hey, did you try this wonderful SMB Stats[code.google.com] app? Checking this, I have a time of 293 - 60 (= 5 seconds for every warp zone level x 12) = 233 for both the light and dark world. I remembered sticking to this[gaming.stackexchange.com] = 320 seconds required (including 60 seconds) for the Forest. So maybe you need to be 6 seconds faster? 266 + 60 = 326...Other than having no connection to the internet, those achievement can't be considered broken.

Let me know if things work out the right way.

Aww thanks! I managed to cut 3 seconds off both the light and dark world versions of 1-20, and got it :D I'll be sure to use the guide you listed in the future

If you practice long enough, but most important, enjoy, you will consider both the Hospital Light & Dark World as easy :) Try Cotton Alley or the 'No death'-achievements

The speedrun achievements are pretty loose once you know what you are doing, if you just look for the shortcuts in levels you can demolish them especially in rapture, good luck

These achievements do not appear on my achievement list. Is this something wrong on my end or are they hidden until unlocked?

no they are hidden, they will show once you get them, if you want to you can count the achivements on your list and you will notice there are not 48 but at other screens you will have xx/48 achievements unlocked/
