Game does not launch at all

So, I haven't played this game in months and tried to again, at first, it gave me error messages. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, fully aware of the loss of lvls I've achieved so far. However, even the new installation did nothing on the issue. Now, however, it does not give me an error message, it just doesn't launch. On Steam I see how it reads "Running" and after seconds it reads "Syncing" and that's it. Asked a few friends about it and they suggested to right-click the game to set the launch properties to "-windowed" or "-sw" but even that did not help.
Is the game broken? I have seen people going crazy about the error messages, fatal errors and black screens, so I would like to know what's up.

"open up the properties and click "set launch options..."
put this in: -windowed -1024x768 -highdetail "

Just tried it, same thing happening. It says "Running" then it says "Syncing" and that's it...

Holy crap! It worked for me, I made a different thread of how it couldn't create the graphics device, but this actually solved the problem! Thanks mate!

I just tried this myself and it does not work. The game just says "Launching" and after some time it says "Syncing" as if it was closed again. And that's it. Same issue as before, so I don't know what else to do :/

I changes game binary in BETAs tab to Speedrunners version and that one works.

Just had same problem. In my case it turned out to be a missing DirectX9 DLL. Apparently the included installer won't install DX9 if a higher version is already installed. Fixed by downloading and installing the full DX9 runtime here:

how do you install the dx9 to the game ps888 / bomboclat ( suck your mom )

Downloaded the dx9 and put -windowed -1024x768 -highdetail " on launch options. Still won't launch. I just press play, it says syncing, then running for a few seconds, and back to play.

i downloaded the dx9 but do i not need to insert it into the files?
