Why only DISNEY planets?
Just becouse the game sets in the era of those absolute garbage movies, the galaxy STILL has all those atmospheric and nostalgic planets.

Now, u can say that "hey, the map design is still good on Jakku or Krait". Yes, maybe. My problem is, that every single time i see Krait, i have to remember that trauma of the 8th movie...

They are just maps, but somehow... they really ruin the vibe for me. Where is Endor, Coruscant, Korelia, Naboo, Geonosis, Dathomir... name your poison , so many planet to choose from... and they brought us... these... If Canto Bight coming in a DLC i will throw away my monitor. Let us forget.... let us forget!

I don't disagree that it would be nice to have some "classic" planets, but Corellia, Coruscant, and Naboo are not in the Outer Rim (where this racing league exists because it is illegal.)

The only reason they are not doing Coruscant is them being too lazy to render all of the megastructures, inside a giant cityscape. The lore is just an excuse they use for not having more podracing or certain planets inside the game. They easily could change the lore in a way that would allow for more podracing and more planets.

Something down the line of:

"Darius racing league got really popular and is now expanding on other planets. "

And the reason that we dont get more classic Star Wars content is simply it getting into the way of Disney pormoting their new content (that nobody wants) .
The iconic Tatooine track is actually in the game believe it or not but I get you.
Tatooine aint Disney, and Ando Prime was one of my favorite planets from Episode 1: Podracer.

But I sympathize with you because I also cringe every time I hear the name Krait or Jaku. At least they did a decent job on those courses.
This game really needs a city planet like Genosis (LIke Genosis I know Genosis is dead)

It's UE5; if you put a race in a city, it will be so demanding that your PC will overheat and go to the Outer Rim.

And we all know that podracers would never do something illegal.

Except doing that would break canon, which I would not want them to do. That's one of Disney's biggest issues is their disrespect for established canon.

Pod Racing was banned galaxy wide when the Empire rose to power, and remained so under the New Republic. This game's type of "dangerous speeder racing" has also long been illegal in canon. That canon was in place ~20 years before Disney acquired Star Wars. It wouldn't make sense for the New Republic to legitimize races where the pilots intentionally damage each other, let alone shoot flames at each other and use mines. There would be no sense of verisimilitude within the bounds of the Star Wars Universe. It makes complete sense within Star Wars cannon for it to be relegated to the Outer Rim worlds. I want more planets too, and there are other Outer Rim worlds they could bring in: but anything in the Mid-Rim or Core Systems would break longstanding canon.

Pod Racers *DO* race illegally, yes. That's the whole point. The people/organizations who run the underground races would not take them to Mid Rim or Core planets because there is a MUCH higher chance of garnering the attention of the New Republic. They make plenty of profit with minimal risk in the Outer Rim.

The lore of galactic racing is so shallow, that they could steer it in any direction. The empire is down, racing should be everywhere ... they really ruined it with these explanation...

This is a very unexplored area of the lore. And Star Wars always changed and made retcons so they could implement more things. Lucas did that every single time. And many times that made his galaxy more rich - see clone wars era.

There could be legal races in the middle sections, and illegal races on the outer rim. That would make an interesting contrast even in gameplay. On the illegal races you could use all your nesty abilities and stuff, in the legal ones - well, those would be real races without flamethrover and mines and stuff.

I mean... THIS is the time, when SW lore can be improved and a huge part of it can become explored, more diverse and more exciting. Saying "its banned" is literally delete a huge interesting section from this universe... And if u ask me: lore accuracy is not that important in small things like this... When 3-4 decades will pass and your child will ask: father, why they did not create more racing sw games? Why are they not exist?"

"its lore accuracy, they are illegal". Bam.

Its not a LOTR storyline here... just a small aspect of the world, that should be way more bigger.

I always hated how SW battle droids become exctinct through the empire era. SW was way more interesting with droids and robots. There are things they should never remove by some weird lore explanation.

So you want them to do whatever they want to the lore, in order to make this game make sense to be on Coruscant? There is so much more to it than "make it legal in the Mid Rim", for it to make sense within the universe. You are applying very surface-level logic, which does not hold up in a way that gives the galaxy verisimilitude.

It makes complete sense in-universe for battle droids, specifically "battle" droids, to be banned. They are not "extinct": some still exist out in the galaxy. They just are no longer mass-produced to form armies. I get it though, you like battle droids so all you care about is them being in whether it actually makes sense or not. We simply disagree on how important a sense of "realism to and within their established universe". You can argue "because it would be cool if it were in the game" or "it's cooler with battle droids", and I might agree with that statement. Your argument that tries to force it to makes sense falls quite short though.

They could have just not made it a Star Wars game, and then they could have done whatever they wanted. If it is going to exist in the Star Wars universe, then it needs to make sense in the Star Wars universe. Changing things that the writer's think "don't matter" is what is ruining Star Wars.
Star Wars games should just pretend that stupid JJ Abrams trilogy of Star Wars movies doesn't exist. They are garbage, and I don't want to be reminded of their garbage content while I'm in a Star Wars game.

Disney 🤮
I see these Disney Planets and I feel absolutely nothing inside. As a Star Wars fan, it doesn’t hook me at all.
