It deals 50-70 (or 80) damage, therefore you can easily farm pop
Most of my most ridiculous runs have come from abusing suicide booths early on. I personally think they are a little too easy to take advantage of, once you know how they work, and what you can do with them.
Tip 23: The 5th boss, a giant chinese snowman, will usually rush at you and do a melee attack. Without some speed upgrades and sprinting away, this is EXTREMELY hard to dodge. I do not know how much speed is necessary, but I would say try to have around 40 points of speed by this point, and conserve your stamina for sprinting away when he runs at you.
Tip 24: The 6th boss will, at half health (at least when I fought him, he might do it earlier), summon lines of fire on the ground, and summon around 9 minions around the room. the minions are the floating head types which drop fire on the ground when killed. Just try to keep your distance and keep shooting the boss in the face. the minions are not a threat if you keep moving.
Tip 25: The 7th boss is just like the 4th boss, but he is completely immune to attacks from the front. Try to get some burst damage on his back when you can. (the bastard) he has some unique attack patterns that can catch you by suprise but is otherwise easier than his younger brother.
Tip 26: In my opinion, you should avoid using the wheel of fortune. the odds are slanted against you. Using it gives you +5 popularity though, so if you are on the verge of hero status and are willing to risk a dance with death, then it might be worth it.
Tip 27: There is an enemy on the final floor whose attacks reduce your maximum health total. they shoot purple goo, and they adjust their aim against you. I'd suggest constantly jumping against these enemies until they are dead to throw off their aim.
Tip 28: Melee weapons seem like a bad deal but they do have one use: killing an enemy with one awards +.5 popularity. if there is only one or two enemies left in the room and you can get relatively close to them without risking your health, I'd reccomend melee.
Tip 29: The dual uzis deal really poor damage per second for a specialty weapon, probably even worse than the submachine gun you start with. they are particularly useful though when entering a room with a lot of blue or invisible baby heads - the spread of bullets is guaranteed to rack you up lots of popularity.
Tip 30: the double barreled shotgun only gets you a single round per ammo crate, so don't waste your crates on it. the weapon is only particularly useful for hitting weak spots on bosses, where it'll deal tons of damage.
Tip 31: Your pistol gets an extra bullet per clip for every 14.3 bonus ammo you have, even though it already has unlimited ammo. if you're close to one of these threshholds, I'd reccomend spending an upgrade point in bonus ammo for this reason. large clip sizes improve your odds of getting multi-kills.
Tip 32: You can keep your multi-kill chain going by switching weapons instead of reloading if you're willing to sacrifice ammo for popularity. It's generally worth it in my opinion, since gore kills make each kill worth twice as much. Just keep in mind when these sort of chains are possible.
I have survived already more than a dozen tries (with actually getting hit)
And defense is completely unreliable
