1) Although dirt and oval karting won't be in the Early Access launch version, it's a form of karting we are very interested in recreating either during the EA phase or for the full release of KartKraft.
2) As permanent damage has been requested multiple times already and KartKraft already simulates bent chassis' etc, we are looking at how this (Perma-damage) can be integrated in the game whilst still being fun and not overly frustrating.
We'd love to hear more of your suggestions!
do it wrong and trolls will just crash others (inevitable) but only then it permanatly effects your progress!
Topic 1 I am very excited to hear about. Thank you for covering this question. I know some find Oval tracks to be boring, but to us speed seekers.. Oval is our playground.
I thought about how Permanent damage might not be too fustrating, and it would kind of involve having a Garage of Karts to own and some kind of credit/cash system.
Different tiers of Karts - starting off with your basic Tier, with this Tier being your starter, always accessible to buy for free or free to repair to normal.
As for the higher Tier Karts, having parts like the chassis for example. You damage it during a race. During the race you can repair it to finish out the race or however you can implement it. Then after the race when you are at your garage you can choose to replace the chassis by buying a new one, repair the current one for a cheap fee - or free - with it being free you can choose for that exact chassis to have a durability bar, or such.. and everytime someone does a free repair it takes from the durability of that part. Ultimately you can choose to upgrade to a better chassis, maybe one that has more durability.. or a lighter/heavier frame..
Again these are only suggestions from myself. As far out as they sound they might be useful to come up with ideas from.
As for Injury to your "racer".. are you considering personal injuries as well?
I was young with 3 brothers when I started with GoKarts, school and other empty parking lots with cones set up. :)
Later I raced dirt ovals at Lawrenceburg Speedway and Glencoe Speedway, Ky on dirt ovals.

That picture looks like a good day of fun!
I am a very big fan of dirt racing Heddly.
I grew up at the local speedways watching some of todays best mold into what they are. Older brother keeps the racing alive in the family racing open wheeled modified on dirt, traveling all the tracks around Illinois. I have always had a passion to race Sprint Cars, as dangerous as they are.
It is always nice to meet a fellow dirt track fan. Not too many games cover the roots of racing.
We always played the PC games by Ratbag called "Dirt Track Racing". If you haven't ever played it, Gamespy is long gone and multiplayer might only be around on DTR 2, but it is a game well worth playing.

That looks like a real fun time Heddly. I like the older open wheeled, the old 57 chevy's, the 68 camaros.. was always awesome to see those older body style race cars. I'm just nearing 30 years old but I remember when they ran them, and I try to go and see them on the special "Old Timers" events.
