This assumes both players are playing at exactly the same speed. If the timezones and work scedules are off, one player can end up burning an entire day almost every day while the other player only burns a few hours, making the timelimit be something like 55 days, not 90.
There's really no downside to the ability to remove the timer.
If you want to play a faster game, play a faster game.
If you aren't able to play a faster game, removing the timer keeps the game from forcing one of the players to forfeit in the middle of turn 9.
Please give us an unlimited time option.
But yeah, it hurts nobody and benefits some of us to have an unlimited option.
