Description:
This application allows you to load and export native TX2 files, as well create new ones from any PNG source file. You can also modify existing TALK.DAT entries, changing dialogue for modding purposes or translation efforts. Additionally you can unpack and repack the SCRIPT.DAT archive for easy access to the individual game scripts. A rudimentary Script parser and some very basic functionality is also in place for the PSP and PS2 releases of the game.

Description:
Pretty Prinny is an effort to polish Disgaea PC back to the quality standards of the original console release. It draws on my extensive experience in OpenGL to fix some underlying problems that prevent the game from running at proper performance or image quality standards.

Additionally, it touches on general usability issues such as input, and features to make modding easier on the community.

This needs to be updated to latest patch version or verified that it is, just saying, I haven't played bc of this. I know I got a patch update in mid October and the desc says 9/2 version. I know I got a patch around 10/15 or later. Main release, not beta. Krisan please look into this buddy.

Is there a save editor tool somewhere? I tried the Unofficial Disgaea Tools, but I can't seem to open my save file somehow(maybe its because it isn't a saved game editor).

I see there were animation reasons to keep Asagi a monster.
Pity.
I tried changing her into a human and she just doesn't have the necessary animations to attack.

Why is she classified as a prinny though?
More importantly, how much work is it to a monster skill, (or any special that has no requirements) and replace the animation, range, etc with a gun skill and then add that ID to Asagi through CHAR.DAT as a learned special?

Running into a problem think it might be a BUG caused by the content mod, in chapter 8 the map im supposed to go to isnt showing up at the dimensional door so i cant progress with the game

Did you talk to the zombie near the warp gate already?
The content pack is not messing with map triggers from what I can tell so that sounds extremely unlikely

Yes. The recruitment event for her will be completely skipped though.. Sadly there's no way to implement that event alongside of NIS' version of her without causing compatibility issues.

I really doubt it's the mod, as it does nothing to the gate keeper at present. (Also no one has ever reported this before, and that seems like a glaring issue someone would have noticed by now.) That said, keep me updated on how that goes if you would.

She's not set as a Prinny, per'se. She's just set under similar classification as them. The reason being is that's how NIS had her set in the JP PSP rerelease of Disgaea. I simply mirrored their implementation, with her stats increased to that of her Disgaea 2 incarnation. (Because NIS' D1 version had abysmal stats that reflected that of the "Doll" character.)

As for making new moves or such for her, that's pretty complicated. A lot of special attacks are scripted. And while it's totally possible to edit those or even add new ones, it's very messy currently and I haven't documented nearly all of the opcodes at present. My friends at TCRF have also been a bit on hiatus recently with Disgaea, so very little research has gone by the last couple of months..It's been a busy and hectic time for all, between holidays, birthdays, financial strife, emergencies, and recent big releases (like FFXV) no one has really had the time to work as hard as they used to on this.

There's no easy way to do anything. Between my research and ProgSys' programs, you have most of what you need if you just look around for it though. This game is theoretically very easy to mod for, it just has a lot of silly little nuances to it that can bumble the whole thing up right quick if you're not careful. Likewise while it can be remarkably flexible, it can also be bizarrely restrictive in other ways.. This game is one of the weirder (if not one of the more enjoyable) games I've ever modded for.

just a few more questions

- Are there reserved spaces for the extra characters in the NCP mod (i.e., I don't need to worry about getting a character via Dimensional Phone if I max out the number of generic characters I can make)?

- Is it possible to uninstall the mod once I add in START.DAT and save it? If so, are there any consequences to uninstalling (like losing any equipment on the extra characters, messing up any event triggers, etc.)?

- Does installing the mod mess up any achievement triggers?

I still had an update that was after the update of this mod. So I guess my game is broken now and using this mod is using an old patch.

Probably. The worst part of importing classes over from sequels is the animation work, honestly. Though setting up the scripts can sometimes be its own hassle as well.
