Force V-sync Externally to eliminate screen tearing without halving fps.
Force Vsync and triple buffering through Nvidia control panel or AMD Crimson and turn off in game v-sync you will get a proper working v-sync now that eliminates screen tearing at 60 fps, then turn off the new map textures, SSAO, shadows, filters, depth of field and screen blur crap, game runs perfectly (and I mean perfectly 60 with no drops in any way shape or form) like that afterwards, whoever they paid to make these extra options incompetent as hell and they somehow managed to add problems to the game.

What does triple buffering do? I want to thank you for the v sync tip I can actually play now.

If your fps were to drop below 60fps it'd sync to 45 instead of 30 which is what double buffering does, it's a bit complicated to explain it in simpler terms than that just know that it's better than double buffering (the standard method) and reduces input delay.

yeah in game vsync does not work for me, decided to go to the control panel instead. How do you botch that?

No idea just absolute laziness, looks like someone just plugged the features in and didn't even start the game up once just to see, I mean the problems are apparent right from the start it's not like the problems start 3 - 4 hours in or something lol

The new textures cause a *massive* drop in performance even with forced setting.
They must be using some pretty poor code, I only see that sort of thing with OLD games, like Arcanum.

I don't mind playing with the old graphics though

I don't mind either it's not like the new options actually look better they just look different, it'd still nice to have the choice though for anybody that does prefer new stuff as it is though it's not really an option unless you want to put up with issues.

Okay. Once I've set this up in the Nvidia control panel, do I need to launch the game through there, or will launching it through Steam pick that up automatically?
KaiTenSatsuma Feb 24, 2016 @ 6:11pm
Nvidia should force it automatically, as long as it isn't "Application Controlled"

You can just launch it through steam

my FPS is dropping back to 30 after menus, dialog sequences and such any ideas? I can switch to windowed and back to full and things are OK until i hit a menu again. Any help would be appriecated. the sluggish movement in 30fps isn't something..i want to live with.

heck even alt tab fixes it, but it keeps lurking back to 30 when i hit menus...

oh crap its a lost cause, combat reverts the fps to 30 for me..noooooo

figured it out, i just need to stick to full screen windowed mode...fullscreen is broken for me FPS wise. Fullscreen window allows me to play at 60fps without the stupid and regular reverts back to 30fps.

and multimonitor is broken for me too, i have to disable a display which is crazy annoying.

That's such a shame so many issues, so much compromise, hope they can resolve this before too long.
